a job for now

Mr. V's nanny wanted Thursday and Friday off, so I'm going to be working those days. Ten hour days. That should be a good amount of money. He didn't say how much he was going to pay me, but I'm not going to let him get away with anything less than $10/hr, preferably $12. That will work out to be $200-$240 for two days work. Not too shabby.

Mrs. V wants me to work a day this weekend, so that will be good too. Especially since she was asking about me before their nanny took the time off. I like the idea of babysitting as a first choice much better than being a substitute nanny.

These days will also give me a definite opinion on whether I actually want to work for them. With the hours I work, I'll be sitting in the worst rush-hour traffic both going-to and coming-home from work. Yuck! I'll probably be out of my house 12 hours each day. Hopefully not. We'll see.

Maybe some good will come of this. After all, the world's quirky ways pretty much guarantee that this will interfere with an actual job, since I agreed to it in advance. Things always happen like that.
